Terrorism is an epidemic worldwide that touches all aspects of the human condition. In what manner does another human being convince him or herself that the loss of life, in most cases, innocent life, is justified by the cause in which a terrorist believes? How can sections of humanity that are in essence our kin blatantly destroy what they can not create and call it justice, self defense, retaliation. Genocide by any race, creed, nationality, or belief system is still genocide nonetheless. What are we to do with our brothers and sisters who face us on the edge of mutual destruction. Is the door closed to these prodigal children or has it never been a door to begin with?
I believe that terrorism is based on fear. Not the fear of the victim but that of the mindset of those who would call themselves victor. Fear is the essence on which the sickness in all humanity thrives and is not your friend. Fear comes in many forms: sorrow, dread, fright, terror, panic, trepidation, isolation, anxiety, alarm, worry, nervousness, , jumpiness, fretfulness, loneliness, seclusion, uneasiness and insecurity. This list is not all inclusive but is meant to give you a glimmering of what we are up against. When terrorist of like mind submit to irrational fear backed by a feeling of political, spiritual or religious superiority, it will eventually consume them and keep them locked outside of life, feeling impotent. Fear will makes them feel worthless. Fear will makes them run and hide, and isolate themselves completely from the world along with others of their kind. In the control of fear they will think of every way imaginable to end their existence. Fear will bring them to a level of personal depravity in which any act can be condoned. Belief that the universe is at odds with them and their beliefs, they will not love or be loved and will only be capable of facsimile thereof. They will only believe the worst of those not similar to themselves. Suicidal tendencies are the ultimate fear factor. It will present itself as a viable solution that will not only take the life of the one in fear but also many innocents who inadvertently cross the path of such a person.
With this understanding in hand, it is obvious to see that terrorism is an expected outcome of irrational and controlling fear and can not be quelled solely by brutish force, superior arms, or even a supposed superior mentality. On the contrary, we can only eradicate fear when it is exposed and faced. In some respects, without
