Short stories: A cat's perspective on life

I don't really know where I came from, or when my life even began. I know that life for me started in late summer when I scratched and scratched on someone's back door until they finally opened it. The man who I first seen was not happy to see me. He summoned the lady of the house to come "take a look" at "this". She was all to happy to see me, like she had been waiting all her life just for me. She opened the door, and I gladly walked in. This was the place that I knew I was meant for. The place that I would call my home.
I was given some food. The lady was not prepared for me, so she gave me tuna and milk. I thought it was the best food that I ever had. I was so glad to be there. The lady asked the man what he wanted to do with me. He took a moment and then said, "I guess you can keep him." The lady smiled so big that it looked like the sun had appeared in the room. The lady went to another room, and before I knew it there where three boys staring at me in surprise. They where happy to see me too! They petted me and picked me up. This felt good. I have never experienced this love before. I knew I was special. I never wanted to leave this place.

The lady and the boys all left me at my new home for a while by myself. I found a place to rest my tired body. Now I can finally relax, and not worry about the night things that might come and eat me or chase me. I can just sleep. My sleep lasted until the lady came back home with the boys. She again had that big sunshine smile on her face because of me. I think that I am like a gift to her, but she is also like a gift to me.
The boys carry in stuff for me. Stuff to take care of me; food, water bowel, and litter. Those boys scoop me up and hug me over and over. I am overwhelmed with joy and happiness. They put me back down on the floor. One boy drags a string in front of me, and I just can't resist the urge to grab it and chase it all around. This is fun! I can do this forever!
Then in the other room, I hear a sound of something. This sound pulls me by curiosity. I want to know what it is. I look, and find that the lady has put food in a bowel for me. I am anxious to eat it up. I didn't realize that I was so hungry. It doesn't take me long to finish. I take a drink of the clean cold water. It is refreshing and satisfying. I slowly walk back into the room where the boys are. They want to play again, but now I just want to sleep. They leave me for now, but soon will be back to play.
The lady comes to me and asks, "What is your name?" I say it is Felix, but she can't understand me. So, I hear her thinking of names to call me like: cutie, paint brush, and sprinkles. I am thinking no way lady. Please no. Then I hear her say "Felix". You look like a "Felix". So, she calls the boys into the room, and tells them my name will be Felix, what did they think? They said, yes, that fits him. So, she started to say my name over and over again to get me used it to. I already knew it, but that's okay. Whatever made her happy.
Then, I heard this sound, which reminded me of some kind of bird, coming out of this black thing, which the lady picked up, and said "hello" into. She was talking into it like it was alive. She was saying, "Yes, he is still here, and he is fine. Have you thought of a name for him? Felix! That's what I was thinking! That is so neat, we both thought of the same name for him! It was meant to be!" She talked for a while more, then put the black thing down. She looked at me with such appreciation. I knew I was going to have a great life here!
