Why we love superfoods
What allows these foods to gain the title superfood? Well to start they are packed full of nutrients that are essential for a healthy life. They can help fight against many different diseases and contain high amounts of antioxidants which fight against free radicals. Including these superfoods into your diet will help improve your overall wellbeing. Maintaining a healthy diet will ensure that you feel great and have more energy for your workouts as well. Including these foods into your family dinners will ensure that your kids are also benefiting from all these superfoods have to offer. Wouldn't you feel better if you knew that the food you are feeding your family will help keep them healthy.

Listed are a couple of examples of a superfood.

Apples
Are full of antioxidants especially vitamin C.
Apples are just as good for you as oranges which are more known for their high vitamin C content.

Beans
All types of beans are good for you. Most commonly known are the kidney bean and baked beans in tomato sauce.
They contain a high amount of protein, fiber and iron which is great if you are looking for a meat substitute in your diet.
Beans can also help to reduce high cholesterol.

Broccoli
Contains antioxidants and is also a great source of folic acid.
Just two florets will count towards your 5 a day veggie intake.
Most importantly broccoli contains sulphoraphane which is a photochemical that has anti cancer properties.

Salmon
This oily fish is a high source of omega 3 fats.
If you do not include a lot of meat into your diet salmon would be a great substitute for protein.
Try to eat two servings of oily fish a week to get the full benefits.

Green Tea
Although all types of tea is said to be good for you, green tea has a higher content of antioxidants and is said to fight against all different types of cancer.
Good news for everyone who does not enjoy water, a cup of tea works towards your eight cups of fluids that you need in a day.
Green tea also has less caffine than black tea or coffee.

Blueberries
Blueberries are said to be the most popular out of the berry family and superstores are having troubles keeping them on the shelves.
Although blueberries are small they are packed full of essential nutrients.
They contain a high level of antioxidants which fight against free radicals.
Blueberries are said to help against brain disease.
They make a great in between snack instead of a bag of crisps or chocolate bar.
