Should the FDA regulates natural supplements & herbal Remedies What is it, why not FDA regulates natural supplements? Let we discuss the main purpose or the word meaning of FDR, in which F-stands for FOOD, D- means Drugs and A- administration. Now let we work out where does the Natural supplement and herbal remedies stand. As i understand Food means, what so ever is consumed by an individual. How does natural supplements differ from the food? Natural supplements means those supplements which come from the Nature and become supplement means, when consumed become food, rather "BETTER FOOD". How dare anyone conceive that something which is derived from nature and is consumed as supplement gets out of the purview of FOOD! BY all means natural supplements come under the territory of food stuff. So those who keep them out of control natural supplement is escaping from the discipline hands of FDA and sell to the public anything and everything they went to sell as uncontrolled, unstandardized, low/high standard stuff. These people try play dual game, one bluff FDA and other to sell public unstandardized stuff in natural supplement name, with what so ever good or bad unpredicted effects these natural supplement be cooley sold to innocent public making them clearcut guinea pigs in the open, but not confined of a research laboratory. From other front food is good and nourish the body. There is a world but attached with it? That but means go on eating, as much as you can! Their is a term called "FOOD POISONING", which literally means Don't over eat or else you become victim of over-eating like elephant and at time be suffering from FOOD POISONING. which could hospitalize a person or if neglected could DIE! of FOOD POISONING.

Those who separate natural supplement to take out of FDA are doing dis-service to humanity. If FDA people them-self don't want to take these natural supplement under FDA control are shrinking to put in work for which they are being paid. On the other hand FDA people should gladly under take Natural supplement product under purview of inspection, it will create employment potential to take more people in the FDA dept. If some one separate these two FOOD and NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS, he is doing injustice to the FDA organization and at the same time exposing humanity to the danger of disease or else!

Now to tackle 'herbal remedies' are part and parcel of vegetation, from where the vegetarian developed!. If you extend the same treatment to herbal remedies that too you are doing great injustice to the duty encompassed by the FDA. to quote recent happening of virus infected spinach, which became toxic for many people. Herbal remedies are the sister species of herb to spinach, so they too carry potential danger of creating problems for the consumer, through virus, bacteria, fungi, and even spores.

By all standards I am in favor to bring these product under the strict control of FDA. If FDA is under staff, make a sub-branch of FDA for taking care of "NATURAL SUPPLEMENTS AND HERBAL REMEDIES" to let it come under vigilance of FDA to supply standardized product to the community. To add to it a new product is in market with Ginger, which is thought to be CNS Stimulants by many , but i personally consumed it and I was grip by sleep spell while driving my car on a turn scaring my daughter-in-law sitting by my side for accident. If possible these products should pass under the hand of expert Pharmacologist to study their effect on body too for consumer's safety as I was to become victim of CNS depressant effects of GINGER.
