Should dodgeball be allowed in schools?

Of course dodgeball should be allowed in schools. The concept of throwing a ball at someones legs sounds very simple but actually is very energetic and requires a degree of skill. All though dodgeball may not be very social it is still alot of fun if the teams are arranged equally, which I feel is the part of the teacher and students should not be allowed to choose their own teams. Although dodgeball is huge sport in America it is still a fast growing sport in the UK. When my teacher comes into the changing rooms and tels us that we are doing dogeball there is an uproar of cheers. Does this indicate that dodgeball is a very exciting sport or that in fact it is not played enough. One things for sure, that dodgeball is a thrilling and energetic sport which has that slight bit of fear about it which gets the adrenaline pumping as well being a great physical sport.

Having said all this I feel that their should be a wide range of P.E activities throughout the year as with every sport you get a few minority who can't stick the game. It is for their benefit that the school needs to arrange a number of activities and rotate them frequently. Everyone has th favorites and dislikes but by doing it this way everyone is ever kept happy or unhappy for only a short period of time.
As to the equipment used in dodgeball the ball needs to be a chunky foam ball or an original dogeball-ball. It is when ball such as basketballs and netball's are introduced to the game that it becomes unsafe. One last minor thing is that from my experience you get a few who refuse that they have been hit and will stay in the game before the teacher eventually sees them being hit. To combat this maybe a ball filled with food coloring could be made so each time it hit the persons legs it left an imprint which could then be washed at the end of the game.
The history of Dodgeball dates back to prehistoric times, when cavemen would throw rocks at each other, playing until one died from brain hemorrhaging. Since then, the popularity of the sport has taken off, especially in Germany, where it has been declared the national sport. The German national sport used to be starting wars, but they quickly realized that they suck at it after losing to France twice, England ten times and the United States 60 million times. Dodgeball is still pretty violent, though. In dodgeball the pros always remember the four D's of dodgeball. These are duck, dip, dive and of course dodge. A little silly chant to take your mind of the sting.
