A reflection of You
I saw something beautiful today
A silhouette of a proud elk,
a ghostly glimpse in the late moonlight.
I saw the early morning sun,
Turn the glassy lake to a reflection of brilliant gold.
As I walked by the ocean,
I saw thousands of colorful stones
Being drawn by the fingers of the ocean,
Into a churning array of every imaginable shade.
Not long ago I walked a beach,
With endless grains of sand
Like Your thoughts of me, they cannot be counted.
And the waves that sang of your promises.
Such beauty that I was rendered speechless!
I climbed, on grey stones sun-warmed,
The sun above me and a shimmering lake enclosed by endless forest below.
I can only for a moment hold these glimpses of beauty
My mind can hardly grasp the majesty of Your creation!
But every day I see this beauty displayed
I only wish that I could learn to fully appreciate every moment of it.
And yet what I truly cannot comprehend.
Is the realization, that all the beauty in this World,
Is but a reflection of Your image, Your beauty.
