According to the local weatherman, the likelihood of it snowing in Naples is close to 0%. Crackers swear they have seen it flurry as far south as Fort Myers back in 1990. Shoveling the snow talk aside, the best time to visit Naples? Each season has it's incentives. A favorite time for many residents to enjoy life in Naples is Spring. The snowbirds have hit the road, the weather is still mild and hurricanes are still months away. Expect average temperatures in April to range in the mid to upper 80s and 60s at night with lower humidity. This is also a time of year with very little in the way of rain. Landscape may be parched, but it's still beach weather for some of us. Summer brings with it lots of thick, cut it with a knife humidity that many people steer clear of. A bonus of a summer vacation? Empty restaurants, beaches and roads. A daily late afternoon rains cools it down just enough to go enjoy a sunset at the beach. It's a gamble visiting in the fall, famously known as hurricane season. Tourists in Florida generally keep one wary eye on the weather for most of their trip. This is however, historically, the most inexpensive time of year to visit Naples. November is right behind April as the best time to visit. Weather is still great and the snowbirds are still up north.
Winter in Naples? Spending Christmas there is odd. Palm trees wrapped in lights are beautiful and all....but fake snow and reindeer just don't seem right. Visit just after the New Year and all the way through the end of March for the typical "high season" as the locals call it. You will very likely need to pack a sweater and long pants as temperatures can dip down to freezing on occasion. Some days may be especially sunny but slightly cool to sit out in a bathing suit. On average, highs can range from the mid to upper 70s with 40s at night. If time is on your side and great weather is a must on your itinerary, plan for a Spring or late Fall trip to enjoy the best weather, Naples style.
