Our New England Trip
New England...there is no better place to take your family to experience a piece of American history. It is alive with big industrial cities, historical hotels and natural attractions that will keep your family busy all through your vacation. My family vacation during the summer of 2006 was unforgettable; we got to experience the "New England Sampler" package and immerse ourselves in the land of where our forefathers once lived.
Our first stop was the Copley Square Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts. A historical hotel that was built in the late 1800s and entertained many prominent guests during it's time. We arrived during the early evening hours from a long 22 hour car trip from Tampa, Florida. We were happy to be there and wanted to eat as soon as we unloaded our luggage. But first, we were in awe by the "European-style" architecture of the hotel and how cozy each of the rooms were. Luckily, our room had a stupendous view of the skyline of Boston. We all had the chance to gaze out the window and soak in some awesome sights before we headed out to eat. By the way, it will not be hard to find a restaurant to your liking in Boston. We decided on seafood and you really do not need to go far to find a seafood restaurant there. All we had to do was walk a couple of blocks from our hotel and we found a great restaurant. After our delicious lobster dinners, we headed back to our historical hotel where we crashed out for the night.
We were only staying in Boston for two nights, so we had to make the best of our stay and try to see as much as we can. So our first thoughts were to take a tour around the cityabsolutely the best decision you can make to see the history behind Boston. We took a tour that encircled the entire city with a guide that gave us all the historical facts about the area. We were also able get off anywhere on the tour path and be picked up later during the day. The one place we loved was Quincy Market. It had everything from shops, restaurants, street performers and more to spend your whole day. Plus, we got to see the famous Fanuil Hall, a building that stood during the American Revolution. I definitely got goose bumps walking around that building!
The most memorable time I had in Boston was when my wife and I had the chance to drink a beer and eat clam chowder at the same place George Washington frequent in Charlestown. This pub claims Washington and other patriots used to come in to eat and drink beer. Whether it
