thank an individual who has always been there for her?
Finally, start your writing with a quote . . . Examples of this from my own writing are:
A. "Our joys will be greater, our love will be deeper, and our life will be fuller
because we shared your moment." -Author unknown (I used this to begin
an article I wrote about my three triplet grandsons that died at birth.)
B. Occasionally in life there are those moments of unutterable fulfillment which cannot be
completely explained by those symbols called words. Their meanings can only be
articulated by the inaudible language of the heart." -Martin Luther King, Jr. (I used this
at the beginning of a story I wrote about a young gal who found her birth
mother . . .months before her mother died of cancer.)
C. "The good go too swiftly but thank God we passed this earth at the same time." (I used this a few months ago when a very dear friend of mine passed away only weeks after he had found out he had cancer.)
was a total shock to me, and I was so hurt. He had always loved my writing, had always come to
every book signing, and on the way home from his funeral I was saying things without thinking. I told my husband that I would never write again! That life was unfair, and Dick had loved my writing, and I would just never write anything again!
A great way to start writing is to buy a journal, and write something in it every day. Do not miss a day! So often when you go back to your journal a day or so later, something you have written will jump out at you, and inspire you to write something to share with or help others. Tell your story. The stuff that sets you apart from all others. The easy, fun stories and the difficult and painful ones Your story will become clearer as you struggle to reveal its meaning. Write about your journeys, struggles, ancestors, family history, conflicts, regrets and triumphs. Try writing about pets, lost loves, childhood friends, enemies or partners.
No matter how important writing is to you, the more your heart is in something you write, the more creative and meaningful your writing will be. Believe me, it will have an impact on people, and you will be proud of it.
6. Believe in yourself! This is the most important thing you can do. I honestly believe that anyone can be a writer.
