A POEM IS WHAT I'VE GOT......
The words do flow and as I write
I try to slow them down
Sometimes so fast and furious
I miss a verb or noun
Their inspiration flashes
Catching me off guard
I don't know when or how or if
They'll flow out soft or hard
They seem to write themselves for me
First dancing through my mind
I jump to find a pen and pad
They don't wish to be confined
They want to flow out of my thoughts
To find a home outside
The place of their conception
My hands are just the guide
They have a story they must tell
Or a message to deliver
Some make you laugh or cry
Some make you think or quiver
They find their rhythm naturally
Some rhyme and some do not
But once they hit the paper
A poem is what I've got
