Why do we like Obama? He's intelligent, which is not something we can say for the current President, and he brings hope to a despairing party. We like him because he is dynamic and brings a positive outlook to a desolate place we call the White House. We like him because he has a plan and brings change to a staggering party. We like him because he connects the disconnected and makes no mistakes on who matters. The everyday people! He unites with America more than any other President has in quite some time.
All of the reasons why we like Obama has nothing to do with Rev. Wright. This situation has become an age old dilemma. How do we judge Obama based upon what someone else said? How do we judge him based upon what someone else's views are? I know we live in America the home of the free, however, we are innocent until proved otherwise. Perhaps the playing field has changed based upon what color he is and not the content of his character. Taking into account the fact that we had a President who was unfaithful to his wife and his story plastered all over the news and the most compelling outcome from that whole fiasco was the fact that at some point, America rallied behind Mr. Clinton. Please don't make us believe that Rev. Wright would harm Obama's chances. Now that is unfair to the tenth degree.
So what Obama's pastor or former pastor has radical views. Does that make him a terrible person? Does not make Obama a coconspirator? Is he not entitled to his own personal opinions? Was Obama wrong in choosing him as a pastor some twenty odd years back? Please. Don't kid yourself. He is no more wrong than we are with some of the decisions that we all have made in our life time. Thank goodness for second, third, fourth, and just another chance. Have we all succumbed to being hypocrites? I say no. I say we rally together and let Obama know that we are ready for change, and that includes not judging a person based upon someone else's views. It is what it is! Obama is what he says he is, the Truth. He's an honest person trying to do what no other African American has done: become the President of the United States of America. For those who believe in Obama, their minds can not be swayed. For those who are straddling the fence, they will be changed at every whim. Those who were just hoping for a brighter day, just needed anything to oscillate their decision from the beginning.
We have a chance to accept or reject change. I know how hard it is for people to release themselves to change. It has often been said that the only one who welcomes change, is a wet baby. At this moment in time, America, please take time to get to know Obama, and not his former Pastor. Look him in the eye to see how genuine he really is. How important is family to him and lastly, how well can he come into office and change somethings for small business owners, as well as the face of the bewildering economy. What is change without some trial periods? Nothing! Why not try Obama, we have tried and accepted everything else.
