Recipes: Spicy chicken

Well well well....We all had the appetite for a spicy meal at least once in our life time and some of you liberated yourselves going to the corner Bombay Mahal or the spicy Indian restaurant near your house. Ever wondered what goes in that corner place that produces the spicy chicken kabobs or the spicy kadai masala? I am very fortunate to get first hand experience in cooking them and experience the tears before and tears after..World is round when things are spicy.

I started cooking when I had to move out of my house and go to college. I did not have the slightest idea of how do I cook anything. I was scared will I be able to eat anything or do I end up spending all my money in the Mc Donald's across the street. Seniors in the college sometimes not just bother you , but also help you. Yes...a senior in my college said that my taste buds will get all it wants with just 30 minutes if I can cry a little bit before I cook and cry a little bit after I cook. Seniors ha..They just don't leave you easily and make sure you cry...Just kidding.

One fine early Sunday morning at 11:30 AM(early for college students), my senior drove his 1996 green Honda civic and took me to the local store. He asked me do I normally like legs or thighs....Well I leave that to your imagination for now. We picked up 1/4 lb chicken thighs and went across the counter to get the favorite vegetable for a spicy meal..If you have not yet guessed yet you are going to have great fun as we ended up buying 1/4 lb onions and of-course grabbed couple of tomatoes. Then we checked on goggle and found our local Indian grocery store. Nice Indian music welcomed us as we went in and bought small Garam Masala(about $2), Ginger Garlic paste( about $4), Green chilies( $1), Dhania powder($3) and chicken curry powder($2).

We went home stopping at a gas station, made some stares and had some fun as we went home for our mission..cook a spicy Indian curry.

Here starts the fun..did I say I have to cry before cooking? I am not a Hollywood actor or a great tears user, but it all happened naturally as I cut the onions in to small pieces. Then we cut three green chilies and two tomatoes to small pieces. Checked with my senior sitting and watching the Celtics game if he really cares if I start cooking with my big three tomatoes, onions and chicken pieces or do we have to watch the Boston big three. He shouted back to relax as the we are entering halftime and it does not take more than 30 minutes to complete
