Sweet Violet
Far beneath heavenly boughs patiently you do lie,
To be kissed by a dancing ray of the spring sun nigh.
Your majestic beauty will surprisingly then unfold,
With velvety petals of purple around a core of gold.
Your royal colors sparsely grace the dense forest floor,
Tiny, delicate gems hidden like a treasure of secret lore.
Few have beheld the simplicity of your timeless garden,
Nor have known the eloquence of your precious pardon.
Some have fortunately gazed upon your innocent bloom,
And softly breathed the fragrance of your subtle perfume.
Your simple elegance and beauty rare cast a delightful spell,
Hearts and souls you eternally bind with your invisible veil.
Your fragile stems are gathered into a small, sweet bouquet,
Placed in a vase to keep, yet you quietly wilt and fade away.
You sadly then become but a memory and a desire to return,
To the place and time you were discovered, we do so yearn.
