The satin sheets felt silky under my skin
I believe you sensed this
That's why you thought I would let you in
You sensed my loneliness
My neediness that had been there for years.
As I looked up at the stars
I was dreaming of safe arms
You must have sensed this too
For you embraced me with all of your charms.
I found comfort being held by you.
My need for passion has been a strong one
To keep my life fresh and new
To reassure me I am not getting
old and wrinkled
And that there are things I can still do
To make a man yearn for me.
I love life but loneliness is too much
I felt calmed by the softness of your touch
For years I hoped I would find someone again
I didn't know how, I didn't know when
To light the spark in me
That had died so many years before
I had found romance again
Right outside my door.

Little thing, you are new on earth
Have stilled the night and made us holy
We have become silent, shuffling satellites

Wonderful America, wonderful America, the country I love,
For each morning and evening I live
In the land of opportunities.
You share with me life's simple joys
Your smile, your laughter better still
The way you are with our beamish boys,

"Young and Old"
With your joyful playfulness
and my wide eyed curiosity,
we are at times both like children
