The following recipe has been an enormous hit among my teenage actors as a theater teacher - we enjoy "Mean Lasagna" after "blitzing" our posters for every show. The recipe is easy to prepare and limitless as far as how many hungry actors or family members you can feed.
Mean Lasagna
Feeds: Unlimited depending on the size of your pan!
You will need:
lasagna noodles (enough for two layers in each pan)
prepared red spaghetti sauce (I suggest Prego Traditional and use one jar for each pan)
ground beef (1 lb. per 9x9 pan)
shredded cheddar cheese (about 1/2 cup per pan)
garlic
oregano
shredded mozerella (about 1/2 cup per pan)
parsley (for garnish)
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees farenheit
2. Brown ground beef
3. Cover bottom of pan with sauce
4. Place one layer of noodles on top of the sauce
5. Cover noodles with a second layer of sauce
6. Spread 1/4 cup of shredded cheddar over sauce layer
7. Spread browned ground beef over cheddar layer
8. Spread rest of cheddar over ground beef
9. Sprinkle oregano and garlic over cheddar layer to taste
10. Spread another layer of red sauce over cheddar layer and spices
11. Place second layer of lasagna noodles over sauce
12. Spread a final layer of sauce over noodles
13. Sprinkle mozzerella over sauce, letting sauce emerge around the edges
14. Sprinkle parsley over cheese to asthetic taste
15. Cover with aluminum foil and cook for 2 hours
16. Let stand for five minutes - lasagna should be slightly soupy
17. Enjoy!
6. Spread
