Oregon is known for its fine wineries and impeccable wines. Sun River is a beautiful place to explore these fine accomplishments and indulge yourself with the many unique tours and wine tasting. Wine is more than a hobby; it's an art. And here in Sun River, you can find your inner artistic faculty while truly enjoying something you love.

There are many small wine restaurants within thirty minutes of the heart of Sun River. The Maragas Winery is run by a family who has passed on the love of wines from generation to generation. The use local grapes grown in Oregon as well as some from Californian vineyards. They run a tasting room where visitors can sample and purchase their wines.

The Wine Shop and Tasting Bar is also a unique experience. It offers fine wines selected from all around the world. Every Friday it holds special tasting events. These are just a couple of many wine shops available in Oregon. More information, as well as more variety, can be found at: http://www.visitbend.com/Discover_Bend_Oregon/Restau rants_Food/WineandWineTasting/default.aspx.

However, the finest wine festival is the Sunriver Sunfest. This celebration is held in the village of Sun River itself and gives the locals, as well as visitors, a chance to enjoy the regional wines. Every year, over thirty wineries attend. While the majority is from Oregon, some even travel from Washington and Oregon to provide a wide variety of wines and a wholesome experience for everybody. The Sun River backdrop creates a very relaxing mood and spirit, which is perfect for a relaxing afternoon of wine tasting. Typically, the event is held on a weekend in late July.
