Sunriver, Oregon claims to be a premier destination for majestic mountains, rippling rivers, lush golf courses and a variety of luxury accommodations. Well, not only is all this true, but along with the celebrated landscape the area provides many popular festivals and annual events throughout the year to entertain all its visitors.

Let's start with Sunriver's biggest community event of the year, the Sunriver Music Festival held at the Sunriver Resort Great Hall in August. While primarily a fundraiser to help provide educational programs for the youth of Central Oregon, this festival also offers quality performances of classical music for all interested in this genre. Leading up to the festival, each Wednesday (beginning in early July) visitors can enjoy the Resort's series of free Rhythm On the Range concerts at the Meadows Golf Course Driving Range.

As the concerts come to a close, it's time to hit the course to take in some championship golf. The Crosswater Club in Sunriver hosts the JELD-WEN Tradition, Oregon's premier golf competition in late August. The format of this event is a four-day, 72-hole major championship attracting the top golfers and enthusiasts to the area. If you want to get into the action, the Northwest Dodge Dealers Pacific Amateur Golf classic takes place in late September. This three-day, net, stroke-play tournament sends golfers to eight courses around the Central Oregon region and culminates in a playoff competition at Sunriver Resort's Crosswater course.

The end of October brings a Women's Wellness Weekend to Sunriver. During this weekend, women can journey into a profound experience of renewal designed to help restore, reflect, rejuvenate and re-connect. Women attending learn effective ways to manage stress, calm anxiety, respond to life's uncertainties and achieve balance in life. In today's demanding and hectic world, who doesn't need a weekend away to revitalize and refresh?

Each year the holiday celebration of Sunriver Resort Traditions (Thanksgiving through New Year's Day) brings horse-drawn sleigh rides, visits from Santa and New Year's Eve events to the area. During this time there are over 150 family events scheduled providing something for everyone.

Along with other local festivals and events, if you don't mind driving fifteen to thirty minutes, other significant annual events around Central Oregon include the Sisters Rodeo, Balloons Over Bend, Deschutes County Fair, Sisters Quilt Show, the High Desert Classic Horseshow, the Bend Summerfest and Winterfest, as well as much, much more!

Sunriver is really not just a resort, it is a special place where families reunite and relax in the unbelievable beauty the area has to offer. Whether golfing, biking, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking or just hanging out at one of the great events the area has to offer, you'll be sure to be heading back for years to come.
