If you're seeking a warm climate for a golfing holiday, then Scottsdale, Arizona may be just what you need. Bordered by the city of Phoenix and the McDowell Mountain range, this year round sun-kissed location offers the ideal retreat for golf lovers, in this 'Valley of the Sun'.
While Scottsdale's neighbor Phoenix enjoys a wide popularity with tourists, the smaller nearby Scottsdale has been booming and is now home to numerous luxury residences and first rate golf courses. The town has been earmarked as one of the ultimate destinations for golfers, and is the home of the FBR Open Golf Tournament. For a sunny holiday and a unique golfing experience in a genuine American West location you can't beat Scottsdale.

If you would love the opportunity to play like the pros then you're sure to be pleased by the Tournament Players Club, where the FBR Open Golf Tournament is held. Voted one of the Top 10 Public Golf Courses' for Arizona by Golf Digest; visitors are welcome to attend this club, with many attracted by the chance to play the same course as the members of the PGA tour.
This course is highly recommended, being named by Conde Nast Traveler as one of the Top 50 Golf and Resort Destinations in the World', One of America's Best Courses' by Golfweek Magazine, being recognized by Golf for Women Magazine as one of the Top 50 Golf Courses for Women in the US'; as well as being labeled one of the Top 3 Golf Facilities in Arizona'. With award winning additional facilities, this course provides the visitor with an opportunity to enjoy golfing in a landscape hailed as an exceptional example of environmental stewardship'. Set against the backdrop of the McDowell Mountains the green is something of an oasis in the desert and this fairway is a designated Audobon International Cooperative Sanctuary System.
Another popular public golf course is the Troon North Golf Club. With Pinnacle Peak towering at its edges, this golf course is focused on design that works in harmony with the natural surrounding environment. In June 2007, after creating a name for its innovative combination of desert elements into the design of the golf course, this club was named on the Conde Nast list of Top 100 Golf Resorts'. This golf course is, as the name suggests, one of the courses from the Troon group. Designed by Tom Weiskopf and Jay Morrish the course not only caters for golf lovers, but also houses the Grille a high end restaurant located at the 18th hole. Keen golfers thereby have an opportunity
