Great R&B wedding songs

First and foremost, congratulations on your big day and believe it or not, your day will be perfect if you just relax. But with all the planning and preparation from sending out invitations to choosing the perfect wedding cake, selecting a perfect wedding song comes at the bottom of the list, especially for the groom (sorry guys).

Choosing a perfect music genre is simple, you want a song that reflects your love for one another, which has deep emotion, soft lyrics and of course soul and the winner is R&B. Now that you have chosen the right genre, you have literally hundreds of great R&B slow jams to choose from either for your first dance or walking down the aisle music. But fear not, my priceless gift to you is a list of the greatest R&B wedding songs that will not only make that 2 minutes and 30 seconds holding your partner a moment that will feel like forever but it will also not leave a dry eye in the house.

Jagged Edge Let's Get Married

The song literally speaks for it self "meet me at the altar in your white dress", there is nothing better or sweeter than men singing about getting married that having just sex all the time. Also, as a bonus, if you have a really good DJ, you can get him to mix the original song with the remix and boogie, so to speak, with the rest of your family. Good times.

Luther Vandross Always and Forever

Personally, this is one of my favourite wedding songs, reason being it was my parents wedding song, which my dad chose for my mother and he does not have a sentimental bone in his body, so when he surprised my mother with this song on their day, she cried thought out the whole song during their first dance. I'm not too sure if my mum was crying because of the thought that went into choosing the song or because it was Luther singing.

K-Ci and JoJo All My Life

This was the first single I bought, I remember it only cost me 1.50 on cassette and I played it continuously. I even "wooed" my first girlfriend by calling her mobile phone and play it to her we always reminisce these moments. Also, for the fellas who are not great dancers and low on confidence, this song is perfect. As the tempo is slow, not much movement is required. So grab your bride, wine and caress her slowly.

Spend My Life with You Eric Benet and Tamia

You would think a sex addict who was dumped by the irresistible Halle Berry would know the first thing about being in love and respecting that person WRONG! He may have his faults but "Spend my Life with You" sure does show how to serenade your partner.

Back at One Brian McKnight

A very melodramatic song, which should be used during your first dance. I've always love the message this song represents, that whenever things get bad, you should always go Back At One meaning you should go back to the beginning when you first fell in love.

Of course, I have many more but these songs do stand out the most. Most importantly, if you are afraid to dance in front of many of you guest; choose a slow song therefore, like I said before, you both won't have to move as much as you hold each other close. I hope this is more than enough to help you decide. Good Luck and remember relax guys!
