Asking for miracles and acknowledging that they exist, and are bestowed, is my positive way to overcome the problems in life.
I ask for miracles frequently, (almost every day in fact), I ask for the Lord to send a miracle and each day He does.
The miracle is often not the answer to the request that I posed on that specific day, but it may be the answer to an earlier one, almost as if He enjoys surprising me!
Just lately, my eighteen year old daughter became very very ill. I do not have a medical aid but she desperately needed surgery on her kidneys (she was born with three and now, they had decided to go into revolt making her desperately ill with septicemia).
I sat in my darkened bedroom and asked the Lord for a miracle. I then rushed her into our local hospital with a raging fever and horrendous pain and miraculously, a top doctor saw her in casualty, rushed her into the operating theater and corrected the life threatening problem without asking for any money.
My next miracle? The hospital contacted me and told me that they had to have R38.000.00 by the next day. I didn't have R38.00!
Then, miraculously, a friend paid the bill. I didn't think he had two rand let alone R38.000.00 stashed away. Miraculously his pension fund had paid out a lot quicker than usual and he was prepared to lend me a portion of it.
My life runs on miracles. If my car breaks down, miraculously it will be close to help and the cash to mend it will miraculously appear. We always have enough to eat even though the property industry is going through a rough patch and my sales are down. The rent gets paid, I have fuel in my car and we are well. Miracles happen, each and every day!
The secret to the receiving of miracles in ones life, is a solid belief that they will happen because you have the utmost faith in God's ability to make them happen. I talk to Him about everything. He listens, taking the time to interact in my life even though I am but one of billions who seek His attention every second of every day.
Make no mistake, I have bad days, down days, and negative days. But, the underlying miracle is that I survived yesterday, I am living today and I have hope for tomorrow.
My life is a miracle and the Lord knows that without Him I could not carry on on many a day but, I reach out my hand, I empty my heart into His willing ear and by a miracle I cope.
Many times in my life I have said, "O K Lord, I have had enough, I can't take one more step, I have to put this burden of living down. Let me come home!" Fifty nine years later, I still get up, open my curtains, say "good morning Lord, good morning world, and what have you in store for me today?"
In closing, I must add that the biggest miracle is yet to come. I believe that the Lord will take me home when my race is done. I know where I am going (by the grace of God) and I shall enjoy the miraculous fulfillment of His promise of everlasting life. Amen
