The Torment of a Simple Dream.
Hell is the residence of pain, despair and torment,
Heaven is a place of peace and eternal dreams.
If a man dreams of eternal torment then where is he?
Is he in Heaven dreaming of Hell?
Or is he in Hell being tormented by Heaven?
How can a man know where he is going if he cannot decide where he has been,
If he is tormented by an unreachable love by day,
And then dreams of the same ecstatic love by night.
If Hell is torment and Heaven is dreams then you are my nightmare.
You are an unreal torment that is devouring my soul,
Soon I will have nothing left to go to Heaven or Hell,
I will be stuck in this nightmare of tormented dreams that seems to be inescapably overwhelming my life.
I hate your torment, but love your dreams.
Does this mean I love you, or love what you do.
If you then surely I have sinned and am in love with Satan,
If what you do, then what is my life but a dream of nightmares broken only by waking and sleeping.
So with these thoughts, my nightmarish dreams will change,
They were of you, but now they are of being with you so that I can understand,
Understand what unearthly power it is that gives you the divine ability to destroy my life and invade my dreams.
You have poisoned the antidote to my nightmares,
And in doing so you have exorcised my need to dream, or my dream to need.
You have released me from Hell on Earth.

The Loss
Your death has left a void in me,
I have no way to cross.
