The spirit is something deep inside
it is hard to break it, or take it, for a ride
It is a thing that keeps us sane and true
it is a place for us to reflect and over view

This spirit came into this world with us
it is part of who we are, we trust
Without it, we would not be alive
our spirit is part of god, in which we thrive

Spirits get broken for a reason
but that is just a passing season
Lessons learned are meek and humble
better to accept, than fumble

Don't get me wrong, this life is hard
accepting truth, is no vineyard
Sometimes pain is hard to bear
but spirit's trust is always there

The paths we take, may not be right
spirit may not change this over night
But this is why we come to bear
this life of learning, spirit's share
