With training camps around the corner and the off-season coming to a close the fantasy football outlook is shaping up. With a couple of more question marks (Larry Johnson, Andre Johnson) and a couple of freak injury accidents still to come, we can now start to break down the top twenty fantasy football players of 08.
.) LaDainian Tomlinson- Still the number one back in Fantasy football and arguably the number one back in the NFL. The San Diego Chargers play teams that have a week run defense and this could be another MVP year for the aging Tomlinson.
.) Brian Westbrook- Maybe the most versatile player in the NFL. Guaranteed five catches a game (those who play in PPR leagues) and will get 20-28 touches a game by ground or air. Name the top receiver on the eagles and well his last name kind of looks like their top running back.
.) Adrian Peterson- Kid is an absolute monster. However, he is still going to split carries with Taylor and will probably only give you twelve games because of his aggressive injury prone running. The potential is there but that sophomore slump curse always lingers.
.) Tom Brady- Can he do it again? That's the question that people are going to be asking come draft day. I have no doubt that Brady has the ability and the surrounding talent to do it again, however, who can really predict what the sneaky Belichick will do? He may come in next year and hand the ball of to Maroney twenty five times a game. He may not.
.) Steven Jackson- Could be the come back player of the year. If the offensive line is intact and Bulger is healthy, Jackson could be the highest scoring Fantasy player this year. His health is an issue but what player in the NFL isn't going to get hurt. Another interesting fact is that Jackson usually gets twenty plus touches a game, every game.
.) Larry Johnson- Another come back player here. Lets not forget his monster numbers before his down year. He can do some serious damage; especially if newly acquired Guard/Tackle Branden Albert turns into a run blocking machines he is expected to be.
.) Joseph Addai- A very interesting prospect. Has the talent to go yard every time he gets the ball but he plays on a pretty pass happy team. He has also shown that he struggles being the sole back on the team. The addition of Rhodes could be affect Addai numbers.
.) Peyton Manning- Another Colt in the top ten, any one surprised? Manning is as consistent as they come. The only reason I have him ranked so low
