At one time she was all together,
Safely tucked inside.
She felt like she could live forever
If she only tried.
Other petals folded round her,
Sheltering her from harm,
Until the day they fell away
And lost their scent and charm.
That lonely petal, oh, so cold,
But very much like me,
Still held on with all her might
To what her life could be.
I, like that petal, was so safe,
But now I'm on my own.
While my shelter crumbles down,
It leaves me all alone.
But I'm still holding on to faith
Like the petal to her stem.
I want to know life's love and joy
That comes from deep within.

a monumental climb in me,
I've sat on my own frozen shelf,
and seen below all I
