It is insulting to think that any candidate has the right to not connect with the voters on any issue, much less those involving open government. It is the voters who must demand open disclosure of who and what the candidate stands for; and thereby demand to hear each candidate's positions on everything that would represent the voters in a position of service.

All candidates must be asked, "Who do you plan to represent as President? The donors of the 100 million or more dollars contributed to run your campaign? Or, the people of the whole United States, regardless of how much or how little they made available for the candidates to travel about for well more than one year of campaigning?"

All candidates must be asked, "Why was it so important to declare your candidacy in the Winter of 2007?" All of those surviving candidates must be asked, "Why did you decline to abide by the limitations of the Federal matching funds, designed for fairness in political fund-raising?"

The candidates must make it clear who contributed to make their campaigns so expensively run. They must be made to answer how it is possible that so much money was legitimately raised; and why was it necessary to raise so much.

With a government operating for the past seven-plus years, under a declaration of war against fear, each and every candidate must be forced to answer this specific question: If elected to the position of President, will you immediately rescind the declaration of war, placing the office of President back within the confines of the Constitution of the United States of America?

This is a "yes or no" question, with no political speeches necessary. Anything short of an emphatic "yes" from a candidate is a loud and clear statement that my candidacy has been bought and paid for by some secret organization that wants nothing more than to continue its secret control of the government of the United States. Why else would contributers give on such unprecedented levels, making the next President of the United States such a valuable commodity? They want to own the next person (man or woman) who will have unchecked powers, as demonstrated by the Bush-Cheney-Rove power machine.

Any voter who sits by drooling at the looks of a candidate, or has vapors over the candidate being the same sex or same general age, is betraying the people of this country who depend on voters to properly select a President. Each candidate must be asked to make promises; and then they must be asked how they will specifically
