Addressing the slave mentality

by B. Rokenlead

Created on: May 27, 2008

Wow. Slave mentality. Does anyone mind if I try my (high-school-educated) best at simplifying this subject? First and foremost, I'd like to thank my Mother, for never teaching me that there was such a thing. Secondly, how can one who has never been a slave tell you how a slave thinks or thought? A couple classes? A bunch of books? A bad situation is a bad situation, and three times so. Wasn't Harriet Tubman a slave? Fredrick Douglass?... Yeah, I'm sure they cried, but what did they teach their children? What kind of mentality did they tell of? Yep, I'm sure Ms. Tubman told everyone on the U.R. that because some White Man did This, all of you are going to be THAT. Right?

I'm sorry y'all, but I can't get this article out of my mind (by Mr.-or Mrs.- Slaughter) . To be absolutely honest, I've never believed that we would send our own children to school, to LEARN (from brothers and sisters of our own spirit & soul) that, THE BIG BAD WHITE PEOPLE are our biggest, and baddest danger. So,what color is A.I.D.S. by the way? O.k. let's try it like this, stop 100 people on the street and ask them what race they think is EMPOWERED BY GOD. Tell me how many people don't look at you like an A*.

Newsflash... EVERYONE FEELS INFERIOR! PERIOD! Men to Women, White to Black, Tall to Short, and yes, even Skinny to Fat! Crime has less to do with race than it does education. Drugs are just as potent to an Asian as they are to an Aborigine. Stop force-feeding your own children the same sugar-coated mess that has kept YOU running in place to this day. Support black business, yeah, it sounds good, but it COSTS MORE...NOW. No, not when we have BLACK-MARTS sprawling across the country, but NOW. What rhetoric do you have for MY people RIGHT NOW? Stop Fresh Prince? Stop Rap Music? Go to School? If you're living in a cave then you have an excuse, but if not...Wake Up. Tell our children about living life with a purpose. Don't tell them what decisions to make, you fool, tell them to think, think until they are fully aware of their decisions and convictions, right by you, or wrong by me, or even both. They aren't stupid you know. Remember how dumb you thought your parents were?

By the way, a broken home does not necessarily mean a broken heart, or even a broken spirit. A life is one's own. One will do as he or she pleases, child or adult. Your responsibility as an adult is only to make them aware of the consequences that they may incur. Just as I wish that I could have ignored your ignorant article, or your high and mighty approach to our young people, you have freedom. And I hope you are enjoying it. I fought for it by the way.
