Tips for exploring career choices

Making your career choice is one of the most important decisions of you life. Unfortunately not everyone is lucky enough to be able to pick and choose, or to know exactly what they would like to do. Most of us start out just looking for a job to make some money. Then once we have an income we can start researching alternative choices, trades or professions.

First you need to decide on a trade, or profession. What will it pay? The money is important, but money is not all there is to consider. Will you be happy in that trade, or line of endeavor? Will it give you enough free time to spend with your family? Will it provide you with enough after-tax dollars to provide a comfortable life style for your family?

One of the most important things to consider is not just a job that anyone can do, but a trade or profession, something you are good at, which provides a service that is in great demand now as well as in the future. You may want to consider working for an employer, one that provides benefits like a 401-K and medical benefits. Medical benefits are one of the most important in these days of high medical costs.

Then for tax purposes you may want to consider a sideline business, operated from a home office. This allows you to deduct home office expenses and a business vehicle depreciation and other expenses and that portion of the home used for your home business. If you earn a large salary from your employer you will definitely need the tax breaks.

Also, when choosing your career path, to be successful and happy as well, you will need to consider your spouse and family. Many people choose to make a lot of money in their career without considering whether the spouse and family will be happy with that choice. Will you be free to give them plenty of your time, or will the job get all your attention?

Many times we are successful in our careers only to become a complete failure in our marriage. Unhappiness at home can ruin everything you have worked for when the spouse sues for divorce. There are many wealthy divorce lawyers running around the world living high on the hog from unhappy spouses. If your spouse is not happy at home, chances are that some divorce lawyer will make her happy and wealthy with a large financial settlement from your hard earned success.

So, with all this in mind, you may want to consider a trade, or profession, that will give youi plenty of paid vacation time to spend with the family, doing things together that will make them happy. Money and a nice lifestyle will suffice for a while, but eventually that will no be enough, unless you include the spouse in your plans.

You may want to consider a job that will allow your spouse to travel with you when being sent out of town to attend seminars and trade shows, etc. The more time spent together just might mean more of your money stays in the bank!

It boils down to this-find a trade or profession that keeps the whole family healthy, happy and contented! MAKE DIVORCE LAWYERS UNHAPPY AND BROKE!
