Replacing your roof is a big investment in your home. It is necessary to keep your home's interior safe from the weather. Average cost to replacing your roof can average out to any where from 2400.00 dollars to 5000.00 dollars depending on how much damage has occurred over time.

Fiberglass shingles will over time deteriorate and buckle. Weather damage can cause unforeseen problems that you may not be aware of unless you know what to look for. Hail and high winds can damage shingles and make the need for replacement necessary.

In such events a contractor can inspect your home's roof and give you a estimate on how much it will cost to strip and replace your existing roof. Most contractors depending on the amount of damage you have will want to add another layer of shingles to the existing roof. Think long and hard on making this decision. Adding a new layer of shingles may be the cheapest way of replacing your roof but it also places extra weight on to your roof joist.

If you notice your roof's shingles discolored or buckling you should have it stripped and replaced. Ask your contractor questions about ventilation and insulation to help protect your investment. A ridge cap ventilation that runs the length of your roof's apex can take the place of costly turbines and roof vents that already exist.

When trying to find the best and most cost effective ways to have a new roof installed. It is always best to get more than one estimate. Three estimates will give you more insight about the damage to your roof and the most cost effective way to repair or replace your roof.

Contractors are vested and often have many references to help you decide which one's are best to handle the job at hand. They know all building codes and legalities for doing the job right. Having the job done right the first time, will ensure the life of your new roof.
