Sports are a great way for a child to get out there and not only exercise, but meet new people and be passionate about something. When a child is into a sport it is great for their self esteem and even good to make sure they do well in school. When a child is in a sport for school it is necessary for them to keep up a certain GPA to remain active in the sports.

Encouraging a child through books about sports is a great way to get them interested in them. With so many different sports out there, you may have to go through several books in order to find the one that gets them interested. Here are some fun books to read to them about different sports.

THE MOVES MAKE THE MAN - AUTHOR - BRUSE BROOKS

This is a perfect story for young adults to enjoy. It is based on two boys named Bix Rivers and Jerome Foxworthy who become friends and Jerome tries to teach Bix to play basketball. The boys are very different and come from different backgrounds. The book shows how they overcome obstacles and Jerome is a great friend to Bix. Bix's mother is in a mental hospital and he fights with his step-dad about wanting to see her. His step-dad is against it.

This book is a great book for basketball fans of any age. It is well written through the eyes of a young boy and one that I like to read every couple of years. I highly personally recommend this book!

THERE'S A GIRL IN MY HAMMERLOCK - AUTHOR - JERRY SPINELLI

This story is based on a young girl named Maisie Potter, who tries out for the wresting team. She then has to go through many obstacles wince the boys are not very happy about her being a part of the team. Of course the boys and one girl inperticular, Liz Lamply, whom is Eric Delong's girlfriend.

Eric is a boy she starts to like. It is a cute story about a girl facing gender issue rules just because she is interested in a sport dominated by boys. Very fun and interesting story for wrestling fans, boys and girls alike.

THE AMAZING WORLD OF SPORTS - SPORTS ILLISTRATED - THE ULTIMATE SPORTS PHOTOGRAPHY BOOK

This book is one of the most amazing books to show to children about sports. With so many beautiful pictures on an array of sports it is sure to spark and interest to your child. There are so many different sports out there and this is one book that captivates them. This book is for all ages.

It is a very fun and interesting book for anyone with a love for sports. The pictures are beautifully colored and illustrated. Definitely worth its price!
