By chance I came upon it
Nestled deep between green leaves,
Its skin was smooth and perfect
no imperfections to be seen.
Its colour was that of passion
bright and deep, a shade of red.
Mother natures perfect gift
so sweet and full of juice.
As I reached so high above me
my hand outstretched and sure,
that I wanted just to grab it
and do to it, what they were for.
Crunch and munch and chew it loudly,
and suck the sweet and sticky juice.
But hesitantly I decided,
that in fact I could not do it.
Instead I thought allowed,
this is just as it should be;
nestled deep between green leaves
an apple's place is here for all to see.
