The Internet is an absolutely amazing tool everyone should use in their everyday life. You can search for want no matter if it is a car, informations about any desease, information about any subject you can imagine. You can use your email, social network website to keep in touch with your friends and much more. However this comes with a price tag attached. Fraudulent people are already using the Internet to make money from inocent people. The techniques they use vary from fake emails to fake programs. Here it is how to uncover them and take the appropriate action:
1- Emails. This is the number one tool to get virus, spam, trojans, spyware, fake websites designed to get your password and much more. Always verify the iddentity of the sender. If you use eBay for example, you can get an email with a link to a fake eBay website like "www.ebay-site.com". This is an example of a fake website. The same can happen for any other website like Amazon, Google, Yahoo and much more. Always type the full address when accessing any website from an email. Don't click on the spam links, they only confirm the address is active and they tell the spammers you don't know much about security since you clicked on the fake link.
2- Fake Software. When you browse some popular games websites, sometimes they ask you to register to access some special games. No problem so far. The only problem comes whe you need to download something the ends in an .exe extension. This is very likely to be a virus or any other fake program designed to take advantage of you, from givin the criminals private information about you to stealing your credit card information and your bank account information. Be very careful with the programs you choose to install on your machine! Never trust any website. If you have to download anything to get access to it, don't. If they truly want to give you access to anything you want, they can make it available on the site without having to install anything. No matter how better they say it is to have the program on your machine. Remember they must make money to live and you are a great spot to get some dollars from!
Having a great antivirus program on your machine helps you to protect your machine all the time. However if you are not careful with your online activity, you can end having your computer infected no matter what. Anti virus corporations need at leat one hour to make the antivirus for any virus
