I am from the darkness of the night
formed by the strong bond of love
between my parents

I am from the Great Creator in the sky
molded by His gentle love
prayers and blessings
bestowed upon me

I am from the secret room
created with the nourishment
of my mother's flesh

I am from the ecstasy
my parents felt
when I was brought into the light

I am from the green grass of Taiwan
which my father was from
the green that is compassionate

I am from the sun shining on the Great Wall
the same sun that conceived my mother
the sun that is hope

I am from mixed feelings and confusion
forming my unique mind
molding my appearance
creating what I am
