Defeated With Time
Aged
Existing on borrowed time
Rich with memories
Blessed seer your knowledge
Old fashion your ideas
Your face now
Wrinkled and strained
That awkward limp proves
How cruel time can be
Clever, is your recollection of life
You maintained your dignity
With a honest reputation
And a warm heart
It was you to clearly define living
By an example of your own existence
Throughout the duration of years
I've endured your strength
I idolized you
I am afraid for you
Because you are old
Sadly, you tell me,
Your only battle
Was the struggle to maintain youth
And you lost it with time

It with words
Of scissors
Like a religion
You can mend
It with words
Of healing
