Poetry: Unspoken thoughts

by Trisha Quick

Created on: May 27, 2008

The skies opened up and the rain fell to the ground.
I stood where I was with my head bowed down.
Praying for a miracle, I felt nothing but pain and sorrow.
Will the night bring a better tomorrow?
I lay my head down and fall asleep,
no nightmares just happy dreams that fill my heart deeply.
I think of a world where there is no sadness,
a place where people always have happiness.
No violence, no pain.
No wrong no differences,
no power to gain.
As I raise my head toward the skies,
the sun's rays shine down upon me,
and thinking about my life makes me sigh.
Smiling faces, children's laughter.
A better place than this time,
somewhere in the here after.
The clouds rolled in once more and dropped
rain down upon me.
I smile softly and open my eyes.
I pray for the best miracle of all,
for people to see what I see.
Blue skies, sun always shining.
Children playing, adults talking and laughing.
animals running free, peace and complete serenity.
no war, no fights, no violence no one and nothing being mean.
happiness, joy, singing and having a feeling of being completely free.
