When it comes to selecting wedding music don't assume you are restricted to the wordless sounds of a string quartet, or the almost mournful noise of a church organ. If you love R&B music you'll be pleased to discover that there are romantic R&B songs to suit all of the key moments of your wedding day. There are songs to suit walking down the aisle, your first dance and even a song or two to spice things up later in the night...

Below, is a list of R&B songs suitable for different wedding moments. Many of the songs would suit multiple parts of your special day.

Walking down the aisle:

-I swear- By All-4-One. The lyrics of this song are all about making a commitment to love someone forever. It goes "I swear by the moon and the stars in the sky I'll be there. I swear like the shadow that's by your side. I'll be there for better or worse. Till death do us part, I'll love you with every beat of my heart."

-Endless love-By Luther Vandross and Mariah Carey. This is a powerful love song about sharing endless love with your one and only.

Signing the register:

-A Kiss to build a dream on-By Louis Armstrong. This song is perfect to play after you have shared your first kiss as husband and wife. "Give me a kiss to build a dream on, and my imagination will thrive upon that kiss. Sweetheart, I ask no more than this, a kiss to build a dream on."

Walking back down the aisle as husband and wife:

-What a wonderful world- By Louis Armstrong. This song conveys the beauty of life with love and would be ideal for first walking together hand in hand.

Entering the reception:

-A whole new world- By Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. This song is about a beautiful new start, it was used in the romantic carpet scene in the Disney film Aladdin. "A whole new world, with new horizons to pursue. I'll chase them anywhere, there's time to spare. Let me share this whole new world with you."

The first dance:

-Unforgettable-The duet by the late Nat King Cole and his daughter Natalie. This is a beautiful song that is a popular pick for the first dance.

Songs for the reception:

-Umbrella-By Rihanna. This is a more modern upbeat song about staying together no matter what. It goes "You have my heart and we'll never be worlds apart. When the sun shines, we'll shine together. Told you I'll be here forever. Now that it's raining more than ever, know that we'll still have each other. You can stand under my umbrella."

-I will always love you-By Whitney Houston. This song is from the romantic movie "The Bodyguard" and is regularly used at weddings.

-My boo-usher and Alicia Keyes. Another modern upbeat song: "There's always that one person that will always have your heart. You never see it coming cause you're blinded from the start. Know that you're that one for me, it's clear for everyone to see. Ooh baby, you will always be my boo."

-Let's stay together- By Al green

-You're the first, the last, my everything-By Barry white

Three Times a Lady- By Lionel Richie: "You're once, twice, three times a lady, and I love you."

For the private romantic moments when you are all alone:

-I'll make love to you-By Boys II Men. What wedding night would be complete without this song?

-In the still of the night-By Boys II Men. Another romantic Boys II Men hit.

-Nice and slow-By Usher. This is a sexy song about lovemaking. It goes "See I've been waiting for this for so long. We'll be makin' love until the sun cones up. Baby, I just wanna take it nice and slow."
