Looking Out My Kitchen Window
To look out my kitchen window
I lean over the second shift
Of dirty dishes waiting in the sink
To get into the dishwasher
Like the "pick-me's" waiting on the sidewalk
For entrance into the nightclub
Except in my dishwasher
Everyone gets in
The cruddier the better
Not just the attractive or rich
So while looking out my kitchen window
I realize my dishwasher
Is more like a church
Than a nightclub
Except that churches want to be
More like nightclubs
Instead of like my dishwasher
Which has one purpose
To make clean
What is unclean
I need to clean this kitchen window...
