Poetry: Love unrequited

by Sophie Skea

My heart belongs to one soul,
One life and one laugh.
Through the darkest times of hell,
And the brightest times of life
The smiles would capture my mind
And bring me back to earth when my head was with the sun.

Not a day passes when my thoughts do not wonder,
Do not wonder to the realms of dreams and hearts.
Do not wonder through thoughts of chances and wishes and luck.

She took your heart and you took hers back
And my whole world was put to one side
Whilst you sowed your souls together to stay by each others sides.

I was the friend, the luck, the chance.
The soul which would be there for two important lives,
To help and to guide.
Never to love.
Always just to be kind.

But how two lives could be so intertwined,
And never touch?
Never love and never care.
The one soul which will always capture my heart,
Sows together with many others,
But never mine.

And my one life remains the same.
Remains the companion.
The teacher.
The guide.
Never the love.
Never the care.

Your soul is the soul of many.

Take care of your friends and love them dearly.

Never leave even one behind.

Every life has a soul, a song and a rhyme,
And yours is not so different than mine.

Never leave one behind.

Love, Care, Teach, Guide.
