Fate is a funny thing. I personally believe that there is no fate, but the one that we make for ourselves. However death seems to be the exception to that rule. I believe that death is a fate.

We can not choose not to die, everyone that is born, will die at some point in their life. We cannot choose, when or even how we die. The only exception to this would be suicide, that is a choice in death that we can make, but definitely not a wise one.

There are people out there who may say that we do have a choice in death, I have to ask: What choice do we have? We have only one choice as far as I am concerned, that is to live our life the way that we see fit.

We can choose to work hard and make something of our lives, or we can choose to sit back and do nothing. We can choose who we live with, play with and sometimes who we work with. As far as death goes though, there are no choices available to us.

Everything that begins must end, there is a saying that, what goes up, must come down. The same can hold true for death, what is born must eventually die. Now I would like to bring a few examples to light.

If there is a person walking down the street and they happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, let's say they get shot. Some gang members are fighting and unfortunately, lets say that a stray bullet finds it's mark in an innocent bystander.

That person who was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, did not choose to die. That choice was made for them. Another example would be a hit and run, lets say some drunk driver hits a little girl as she is riding her bike, she didn't choose to die, the choice, was yet again, made for her.

A still born baby is another example, that child certainly did not decide that it wanted to die before it was even born, fate made that decision for it. Then there are abortions, the child that is being aborted, did not make that choice, it was a decision that was made for it.

It is for those reasons and many more, why I find it hard to understand how anyone could possibly think that death is a choice. If that were the case, I believe that no one would die because we would all be choosing to live.

There are choices that we make that can influence the manner in which we die, however the time and place and reason for death, all elude us. We have no control over death. I don't think that there is a person dead or alive, besides those who choose suicide, that can say I chose how I died and when I wanted to go.

I still believe that we have no choice in the matter and I understand that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I just can not figure out how anyone can believe that death is a choice and not a fate.

You do not have to be a religious person to believe in fate, I myself am not in the least bit religious, and I believe in fate. You may be asking how I can believe in fate and I shall tell you, I believe in it because there are some things, like death, that we have no control over.
