The 2008 US Elections have been making history since the beginning of the campaign. One of the reasons has been that the Status Quo of Republicans and Democrats [as well as the Mainstream Media] have been revealing their true faces as enemies of democracy and freedom.
According to CSPAN, The Libertarian Party nominated Bob Barr to be the official candidate for President of the USA This occurred after the sixth round of voting in the Libertarian Party National Convention held in Denver Colorado. The Libertarian Party confirmed the nomination in its website by announcing that Bob Barr received fifty four percent of the vote compared to forty six percent received from her opponent Mary Ruwart.
In other news from the Libertarian Party Website, Wayne Allyn Root [who was also a candidate for the Libertarian Party Presidential Nomination] was selected as the Vice Presidential Running Mate for President of the United States of America after a second round of voting for the Vice President. This would have made for a great celebration if it were not for the fact that the Libertarian Party [as well as other alternative political parties in America] are victims of persecution and snubs by the dominant Republican and Democratic Party in the hope that the alternative parties would just disappear. One of the examples came from the mainstream media station CBS.
"The Early Show" which is one of the programmes of CBS has snubbed Libertarian Presidential Candidate Bob Barr. In the election segment, Barrack Obama and Hillary Clinton were in the news as well as John Mc Cain and his possible Vice Presidential Running Mates. Bob Barr was not mentioned in the news segment. While it is easy to make accusations of the Libertarian Party being unable to win, the mainstream networks with their decision to snub Barr proves that they are not promoting freedom. The same applies to the Electoral Commissions and the system inherent in America who have approved laws discriminating against the alternative political parties. When the campaign starts and after the ballot access laws are obeyed, the alternative parties are fatigued while the Republicans and Democrats steal another election. The Republicans and Democrats have no authority to talk about exporting democracy when it does not practice it at home.
I would like to issue a challenge to the existing Status Quo that is inherent in the United States of America and dominated by the Republicans and Democrats. The challenge is to show the world that you are indeed a promoter of freedom, democracy, and human rights by allowing the Libertarians and other alternative political parties to participate in the 2008 Election Debates. If you the Status Quo are unable or unwilling to provide alternative political parties with a platform for debates and there are only Republicans and Democrats accepted by the Status Quo, you should renounce any right to talk about freedom, democracy, and human rights and much less export your version of freedom, democracy, and human rights to the world.
The Republicans and Democrats as well as their mainstream media should practice what is preached instead of violating civil and human rights [the same applies to the mainstream media in America]. This is the reason why the US Elections of 2008 are making history.
