Finding love is possible, but you have to be very aware. You believe you've found your soul-mate and you make look over warning signs that can cause you a lot of heartache in the future. I found love accidentally on-line, I wasn't looking for it. I was ending a marriage of 19 years, the last think I needed or wanted was another man in my life. Here's my story.
I was in my thirties and my husband and I had bought our first computer. We learned to use it on our own. About a year later we split up. To keep the lone-lies away, I would play on the computer, we had aol since it was the easiest to learn with. I would go in the chat-rooms and talk for hours, just cutting up with new on-line friends. I have a strange sense of humor and enjoyed laughing with others. My favorite rooms were the thirties rooms and I was a "regular" in them. One evening this man came into one of "my" rooms and announced himself, he said "hello old people" I thought to my self, "how dare he come in here calling us old" So I asked him if he could see the little X in the upper right hand corner, he told me he could see it, I told him to use it. If he doesn't like old people he should take himself to a teen room. He told me "no, I think I'll stay here" We bickered back and forth for a little while when he finally left. The next time I saw him we actually started talking, or typing I should say. He told me that he had just turned 30 and it was his way of saying high, since he was now "old" also. He had also just recently started using a computer and was still in the learning stages. One of the things you learn when going to a chat room is that things are not always black and white. You can't see emotion or facial features, so you can't always tell when someone is joking, angry, sad or happy. It's easy to jump to conclusions. We ended up talking for hours. I found out he had never been married and was killing time on the computer after work. I told him I was getting out of a marriage to an alcoholic, after he told me he was a little drunk. He told me that it was something he did to unwind after work but it's not something he had to do.
After a month or so of talking on the computer we decided to take the step to speak on the phone. I didn't really want to give my phone number out just yet, so I decided I would be the one to make the call. We loved the sound of each other's voice and talked for a couple of hours. He lived one state over from me, about 600 miles away. After a couple more months,
