By far the best "pre-pay" or debit card right now would have to be the PayPal debit card. Many people already use PayPal for paying for items on Ebay or other online retailers but often fail to realize the other things PayPal has to offer.
The PayPal debit card is linked to your PayPal money market account. This means you can either transfer money into the account from a checking or savings account at a local bank, or recieve it as payments or transfers form other paypal accounts. Once you have a balance you begin to earn intrest (currently 5.2%) This is compounded monthly meaning at the end of every month you will recieve intrest (Your average balance x .052 (intrest rate)/12 (months a year)= your monthly intrest).
On top of this anytime you use your debit card (a mastercard) as a credit card you recieve 1.5% cash back. This means any purchases you make using the card, so gas, resturants, shopping and more.
The possibilities are endless on the ways you can use this to your advantage. We are all willing to drive an extra mile or two to find a cheaper price on gas, with this card I easily save 4 cents a gallon with out even trying.
