Out of all the things that I have been through, that have changed my life in way that it has become an inspiration to me I would have to say was one of my dumbest mistakes. That mistake changed my life forever, it took me through some hard times, but at the same time showed me something I needed to experience. I remember it like yesterday, it was the day before my 17th birthday, so I would say about a year ago. I met up with them, I greeted them with a normal handshake, they asked "are you ready" I managed to unlock my lips that had been locked shut with fear and I answered "yes." Within that 30 seconds, I felt like I was going to die, punches hit almost every part of my body. I tried to cover my face as much as possible, but that one hit broke free, and connected right below my right eye. The pain was excruciating my eye felt as big as my fist. Next comes the worst part, a burn administered to my right arm from a cigarette, then again and again to complete the forever imprinted dog paw into my arm. They gave me dap, and drove off and said "we'll keep in touch". If you haven't figured it out by now, I was initiated into a gang, a gang they call the "Bloods". After my wounds healed, I had felt a sense of power that I could do anything, and not care about the consequences because I had my fellow Blood members who had my back, boy was I wrong. One of the members of the gang came and picked me up one day, but my mother being who she is wanted to meet who I was leaving the house with. When my so called friend entered the house my mom instantly felt something was wrong about him, I know this because she made sure she told me that before I left the house. It was not even 10 minutes from the house when she started calling, saying she don't feel I should be out with this group of guys she hardly knew. I kept telling her it's alright we are not doing anything just hanging out, just saying things to calm her down so that I could stay out, knowing that most likely we were going to do something mischievous. She wouldn't stop nagging me, so I had them bring me back to the house, I had to make up an excuse so that I didn't look like a punk in front of my new members. The next day I spoke to one of the guys I was in the car with, and
