Poetry: Heartbreak

Agenda

Your vile taint has destroyed my life
I painted a fake smile to hide behind
I woke one day from an emotional sleep
It is as if you had it all planned

My body is a hollow tortured shell
My pride is gone, crushed by you
Yet I'm still needy, dependent and weak
A fool, is that what you had planned?

You painted over my innocent dreams
With the shadows that you brought
I started despising my soul - like you do
I followed along with all your plans

I gave you everything I could
And nothing was ever returned
I'm in a prison, lost and ensnared
As if I've fallen because of your plans

You sought to destroy me
An unspoken, subconscious revenge
It was a game, this marriage of ours
An evil, twisted and hateful plan

My unhappiness was meant to mirror
Your insufferably dissatisfied state
I wanted to hide somewhere in eternity
To throw a wrench in all of your plans

I honestly embraced the promised dream
And you really entrapped yourself
Here I'll leave you, I'm free again
But it was never what I had planned
