Should
I should be
able to see
that it is over...
my life again
an old musty book,
the words smeared,
the pages crumbling
beneath a cover
cracked from disuse;
but my eyes
wont take it in.
I should be
able to know
that it is useless...
this love like
a mournful, distant song,
the lyrics disjointed,
the notes dissonant
with an impossible
rhythm unable
to be danced;
but my mind
cant take it in.
I should be
able to believe
that it is worthless...
my dreams dance
part of a play
on a broken stage,
the unreadable script.
fumbling around a plot
making no sense;
but my faith
does not support me.
I should be
able to leave
what is over...
my future dead,
a forgotten garden,
the roses withering,
the leaves dried up,
in a parched land
where nothing grows;
but my heart
wont see it.

but I'm to blame
for my misery.

It cannot be summarized without being mistaken
