why i go
i feel cornered in myself for you
imbedded in indifference
four years we are now
but your arms feel like
falling
your voice separates itself
through the holes of my phone
sifting fragments pleading
to be more than
recollections
of white beaches
and flowing skirts
fingers tracing history
into the sand
between salty sprays
and wind blown smiles
but now the breeze rattles inside
our bodies to remind us
of our vacancy
and arms are left holding
nothing more than ourselves
i can't hold back time
anymore than i can go back
and do it over to
make it more
