Is the Bible trustworthy? .... Well first let us understand the bible and where it came from. I have heard people say so many times before that the bible was written by men and therefore will have mistakes and opinions rather than the ultimate truth. I am one to say that every one of these people who claim this do not believe in God to begin with. One thing everyone will admit to is that if one does not believe in God, they will always argue against the bible simply because to agree with it would prove their philosophy wrong. Ask yourself if you believe in God. If God is real and he created the heavens above and the earth we live on. He created atoms and molecules and took billions and billions of them and put them together to make man, woman and animals. Not only did he create these things but he gave them life and the ability to think and have opinions. If we believe God is real then we must believe he is truly ALL powerful right? Yet so many who even believe this have a hard time believing he is powerful enough to pick the right people to write what he tells them and make sure his word is written correctly.
Another way to look at it is this... I tell a story of something that happened to me when I was young to four others. In one week those four others all tell the story back to me and there will be mistakes and contradictions between their versions. This is common sense. Yet the four gospels were written by four different disciples, years after and under some very strenuous circumstances, and they compare far better than my story would be interpreted a few months down the road.
The bible is completely trustworthy. The one problem with it is that someone who does not know what they are doing cannot just sit down and read it and always understand what it means. Especially the last book, Revelations! I believe it was John who wrote this book to his church. He was in prison at the times and all of their letters were checked and sensored. For him to get his true message across to his church, he had to write in almost a secret message format that his people would understand and his guards would not. There are many verses that refer to other books in the bible and even old testament books. To truly understand what the bible is saying one needs to study it and pray for God to open his eyes to what it is saying. Because the bible can be so hard to understand, it leads many to believe it is un-trustworthy.
It saddens me that there are so many people these days who
