My cat holds me responsible
for changes in the weather
He tells me all about it
every time that we're together.
"I must go out! I must go out!"
His yowling grows quite raucous
Soon other felines join right in
and form a kitty caucus.
The chill December wind is fierce
and snow blows in the door
A glowing fire warms our hearth
And yet the cat is sure.
"I must go out! I must go out!"
He really is emphatic
but when he feels the icy blast
then he becomes erratic.
He stops, he lifts a dainty paw
And glares at me with fury
"Why did you cause this outrage?
Now close the door, and hurry!"
My cat thinks I'm omnipotent
He blames me for the weather
And tells me (at high volume)
Every time that we're together.

My Best Friend
I helped to pick you out
But when we got you home
You caused such a fight
He said you had to go
It really wasn't

Man's Best Friend
Always there when I come home
Thrilled to see my face

Patiently
Night Prowler
Silently, stalking through the night
Sniffing the air for that special scent
Turning corners cautiously

Dear Molly, the best dog in the world
I've always wanted to give you a list
Of the amazing things that you are
So I can prove
My cat holds me responsible
for changes in the weather
He tells me all about it
every time that we're together.
"I must go out!
