It's your wedding day and you want it to be perfect. You want this day to be a reflection of the love you feel for each other. You want it to be memorable and full of emotion. You want it to be just like a great R&B love song.

R&B has given us a smorgasbord of delicious love songs. R&B is rich and full of flavor, emotion, and honesty. There's probably no other genre of music better equipped to provide a great wedding song.

To those of you who are planning that special day...congratulations. And here's my wedding gift to you: A list of some of the greatest R&B wedding songs of all time. It's by no means a complete list because R&B simply gives us too much to choose from. It's just my way of helping to take some of the workload off of you, as you are no doubt bogged down in details and planning of your perfect day.

"All My Life" by K-C & Jojo
This song speaks to the desire the two of you have to be everything to each other with the lyrics "...you are the only one, my everything, and for you this song I sing..." There's nothing like finding that love you've prayed for all your life.

"Always" by Atlantic Starr
"...Come with me my sweet and let's go make a family and I will love you so for always..." Atlantic Starr nailed the wedding song with this one back in the 80s. It's always an added bonus when a wedding song is a duet and not just a solo, because, after all, that's what the two of you are becoming today...a duet.

"Always and Forever" by Heatwave
What more could you want than for your love to last "always and forever"? This is a classic and,depending on your preference, it is also available by Luther Vandross. With lyrics like "...and I know tomorrow will still be the same, cuz we got a life of love that won't ever change...", you can see why you can't go wrong with this one.

"For You" by Kenny Lattimore
This was one of the most popular wedding songs around when it came out in the late 90s. It's pretty much like your wedding vows put to music. "...For you I make a promise of fidelity...I take your heart, your hand, your everything and add to them a wedding ring..."

"Here and Now" by Luther Vandross
Luther's silky vocals on this track make it an obvious choice. This song makes that declaration that you take each other "here and now" and you "vow to be one with thee." Luther was the master of romance and a perfect fit for your wedding day.

"Ribbon in the Sky" by Stevie Wonder
You are wanting your wedding day to be filled with romance and this is one of the most romantic songs of all time. Stevie Wonder is a classic R&B artist and this is a classic love song. The words "...we can't lose with God on our side...from now on it will be you and I..." are tailor-made for a wedding.

"Save the Best for Last" by Vanessa Williams
This is a beautiful song for those who thought love had passed them by, only to find that it had simply decided to "save the best for last."

"Spend My Life With You" by Eric Benet(with Tamia)
Another duet that expresses the desire you have to make a life-long commitment to each other. This song helps you to "...tell God and the whole world I'm your woman and you're my man...can I just spend my life my life with you..."

"You" by Jesse Powell
Jesse sings "...let's call this day our anniversary, the day I put my heart in your hand..." This song is the one that you will play long after your wedding day. It's a great song to start your marriage with and to celebrate your anniversaries to come.

Whatever song you choose to celebrate your love on your wedding day, you simply can't go wrong with any of these or the multitude of other great R&B ballads. May your life together be as beautiful as the lyrics found in these songs.
