The Term often used for job search is "Job hunting". Whosoever has coined this term has coined it right. Those who go for hunting will very much agree with me. When going for hunting we need to make lot of preparation. That is selection of weapons, ammunition and other supplies as well as proper transport and right dress. Than we have to do lot of searching with proper planning.
Failing to adhere to above mentioned details results in frustration, waste of time and energy, sometimes even in a tragedy. Similar is the case with job hunting. To bag a right job, a minutest detail needs taking care of. To make things easier for you, I am giving you a systematic approach.
Step I
Start with self-assessment. Assess your academic standard, personality, experience, your financial condition and other resources available to you. This will help you know your weak and strong points. Now you can plan and improve yourself based on the information obtained.
Step II
Collect all the possible information about the organization and the job you are planning to apply for.
Step III
Build a strong resume of yourself. It should be clear, to the point and should advertise you properly. Seek the help of professionals if necessary.
Step IV
Once you have dispatched the application try getting information about the interviewers, their nature, character, likes and dislike, etc. Organize yourself accordingly.
Step V
Before the interview, make sure that all your documents are in place. Keep extra copies of your resume and all other documents. Dress properly; it should not look out of place. It should be in accordance with the weather conditions and adhere to the dress code of the company, if any. Your dress should give you confidence and comfort. Do not forget to pay attention to your footwear.
Step VI
When going for interview be prepared for unexpected situations and questions. Keep check on your emotions during the interview. Keep your replies short and simple. Highlight your strong points. Modesty should reflect from personality, dress and conversation. Stick to truth and be honest.
In brief, you are out to sell yourself and selling means a lot of efforts. Keep your wits at their best, plan properly and execute efficiently, be disciplined and systematic, be shrewd, a good negotiator and present yourself in a way that you hit the bulls eye.
Last but not least, have trust in yourself, know what you are waiting for, get going, your dream job is waiting for you.
