Short stories: Inspired by the song In My Daughter's Eyes, by Martina McBride

My daughter had the most wonderfule eyes. I often travek to pluto but found nothing there. Anyhow, i lied about the first thing. I don't actually have a daughter. But if I did, doubtlessly she will have beautiful eyes. I went to the shops today. I am addicted to gambling. You can call me Ted, but I would rather you called me by my number. I cannot think of a number, so what I will in fact do is blindly tap some number keys and from then on I shall forever be known by that name, fortghwith. ok here I go: 373774903. Ooooh I don't know if I like it. Well on second looks it kind of has a nice ring to it, what with the beggining with a 3 and ending with a 3 and all. At this point I wonder why humanity never took it upon its self to use numbers as names. just imagine, now will exist a huge database that will upon entry into mother earth, issue you with a name. This will ave so many advantages! No more will parents be able to inflict autrocities on the future lives of their children, by giving them names such as "apple" and "Bovril". I think the authorities should definately step into the 'name giving' process. Naming a child is like giving it a tatoo, you think its funny at the time, but the future damage is irrepairable. In view of the inevitable psychological damage that will follow, the government needs to intervene. The naming process has gone unregulated far too long, and I as a citizen of this here earth, therefore and earnstwhile, declare, no, demand that parents should be stopped. I contemplated placing an exclamation mark here but opted out on the basis that an exclamation is insufficient to convey my fury. Perhaps I should have used 2 or maybe 3 exclamation marks. Not any more obviously, that would be too excessive, like the time I ordered 4 cheeseburgers to impress my friends. I would have made my point with eating 3 cheeseburgers, after which I was fine. However, I had to eat the fourth one, and the fact that I couldn't made me look weak, and they ridiculed me for that. Well I shall put the exclamation marks in. I know that this offends any number of grammatical principles, but what the hell, this is my short story and, and in it I am God. Here we go: !. These exclamation marks are to apply retrospectively of course. Will I succeedd in my revolution? I do not think you care in all reality, but you should. What are you expecting now some sort of happy ending? Well thats just not going to happen is it. My Daughters eyes plays on the radio and I wonder if I will have the jurisdiction to name her of my choosing. As things stand, a sudden realisation dawns upon me that I will be the parent. I could name the little bugger what ever I choose. Mwahaha. Perhaps "Cabbage" is a good name.
